Selling on Mercado Libre and with shipping
How to set up what each channel deducts, calibrate it with a real sale and find the price to publish at to make the same as in the quote calculator.

What it is for
Selling on a channel or with shipping adds costs that a direct sale does not have: commission, installments, taxes, returns and, sometimes, a fixed fee. If you publish at the same price you quote in the workshop, that money comes out of your profit.
Sales & shipping saves those costs once and works backwards to the price to publish at to keep the same base price the quote calculator already gave you.
The Price per channel panel shows up in the quote calculator, the catalog and the details of a quote, and uses this setup. See How the price is calculated.
Setting up the channels
In Settings → Sales & shipping you set up your channels. You can start from the Mercado Libre template or from a Blank channel.
- Commission: what the channel deducts for the sale.
- Installment cost: what it charges you for selling in installments.
- Taxes and withholdings: VAT, gross income tax and withholdings.
- Returns buffer: a little extra in case you have to refund or handle claims.
- Fixed fee by tier: a fixed amount based on the price. If the price is up to that value, that amount is charged; above the last tier, nothing is charged.
The The channel charges the buyer and deposits to you switch marks channels like Mercado Libre: the buyer pays on the channel and the deposit reaches you. If it is off, you charge the customer directly.
The 90% cap
A channel percentages (commission, installments, taxes and returns) must add up to less than 90. If they reach 90 or more, there is no margin left and the price cannot be calculated.
Tiers go from lowest to highest price, with no repeats. You can have up to 10 channels and 6 tiers per channel.
Setting up shipping
On the same tab you set up your shipping methods, or start from the Local courier, Mercado Libre shipping or Pickup at the workshop templates.
- Who pays for shipping by default: the customer or the workshop. It can be changed on each sale.
- Who coordinates and charges it: you (courier, mail, pickup) or the channel (for example, Mercado Envíos).
- Options: zones, sizes or destinations with their cost. With a single option there is nothing to choose.
If you coordinate it and the customer pays, you charge it separately; if the channel handles it, it deducts it from the deposit.
Calibrating with a real sale
The costs a channel charges change and are not always easy to read. In each channel, Calibrate with a real sale compares what they charged you with what your setup says.
You enter what price you published at, how much they deposited and, if it was charged separately, the shipping.
Calibrating a Mercado Libre sale
- Published price
- $39,500
- They deposited
- $33,000
- Shipping charged separately
- $0
- They actually charged
- $6,500
- Your setup says (13% commission)
- $5,135
- Difference
- $1,365
With that data, the button suggests **Use 16.46% commission**, which is the commission that makes the math match what they charged you.
If your setup already matches, the notice says so and suggests nothing.
What price to publish at
In the Price per channel panel you pick the channel, the shipping (or No shipping), the option and who pays for shipping. The base price is the total the quote calculator already gives you.
The Keep my profit mode looks for the lowest sale price that, after all deductions and any shipping the workshop absorbs, still leaves you that base price. Rounding is upward: in pesos, to the next multiple of $100.
What price to publish at
- Base price
- $30,000
- Commission 13% + installments 6% + taxes 3% + returns 2%
- 24%
- Needed before rounding
- $39,473.68
- Price to publish (to $100)
- $39,500
- Commission
- − $5,135
- Installments
- − $2,370
- Taxes
- − $1,185
- Returns
- − $790
- You keep
- $30,020
You keep $20 more than your base price: it is only the rounding up.
What you keep can be above target for two reasons: rounding, as in the example, or a fixed-fee tier change. When the price you would need falls inside an expensive tier, publishing just above the next, cheaper tier can pay off.
Why sometimes more is left over
- Base price
- $9,000
- Commission
- 10%
- Fixed fee: price up to $10,000
- $1,500
- Price to publish
- $10,100
- Commission
- − $1,010
- Fixed fee (past the tier)
- $0
- You keep
- $9,090
With that fixed fee it pays to publish above $10,000 rather than just below: you keep $90 more.
In the I already have a price mode you do the math the other way: you type the price you want to publish at and the panel tells you what you keep and how it compares with your base price.
The channel with no costs
If a channel has no costs set up, the price to publish equals your base price and the panel tells you so.
Percentages that go too high
If a channel percentages add up to 90 or more, the panel warns that there is no margin and links you to the setup.
Using the channel on a quote
With the Use on this quote switch, the channel is saved on the quote. What gets saved is what the buyer pays, which is the total to charge; the Base price in the summary does not change. The Copy button copies only the price to publish.
What the customer sees: the product and the shipping, if they pay it, as two lines before the total. See Sharing the quote.
BenchyOps saves which channel costs it used to calculate that price. If you later change the setup, the quote keeps its numbers; when you edit it you can tap Use today's to recalculate with the current costs.
A sale collected by the channel is not accepted through the link: the page does not show Accept quote because it closes on the channel.
Plan and permissions
Sales & shipping is part of the Pro plan. The setup lives in Settings and is managed by the owner and admins; anyone in the workshop can use the Price by channel panel while quoting.
Collecting a channel sale
When you record the payment of a channel-collected sale, the balance is calculated against what the channel deposits to you, not against what the buyer paid, and the dialog starts with Mercado Pago as the payment method.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to set up every channel?
No. Set up the ones you use; the panel only offers those.
Can I publish at a price different from the suggested one?
Yes, with the I already have a price mode. The panel calculates the result of that price and compares it with your base price.
What if the buyer pays in installments?
You enter it as a percentage in the channel Installment cost, and it is deducted from the price like the rest.
Is shipping added to the price to publish?
If the buyer pays it, it goes separately and shows up in the total the customer sees; the price to publish is for the product.
Does this change the price of my quotes?
No. The channel only adds a total to charge when you turn it on for the quote; without a channel, the base price is saved as always.
