How to price a 3D print
Material
Grams used by the part × price per kilo of filament ÷ 1000. Your slicer already reports the exact grams, supports and purge included.
Machine and electricity
Print hours × what one machine hour costs you: nozzle, belt and bearing wear, plus the power it draws.
Multicolor
Every extra color adds a purge tower (plastic that goes in the bin) and wear on the AMS or MMU. That's why a multicolor part is worth more than the same part in one color.
Profit
Margin goes on top of the total cost. Set it for your market; charge separately for design, sanding or painting.
Frequently asked questions
How much should I charge for a 3D print?
At minimum, what the material and the machine hour cost you; your profit goes on top. This calculator builds that number from your own costs, and you can tweak the margin until it works for you.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The G-code is read right in your browser and never uploaded to any server.
Which slicers does it work with?
Cura, PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer, Bambu Studio and Simplify3D. If your slicer doesn't save print time or weight in the file, enter them by hand.
